Dea Segatto, 46, is a Brazilian artist based in New York City. She graduated in Environmentalism and Cool Hunting by the European Institute of Design and studied drawing at Escola Panamericana, both in Sao Paulo, Brazil. Since 2018, she has dedicated herself exclusively to the Visual Arts. Her research goes through experiments and hybridizations between the techniques of collage, cutting, ceramics, painting and assemblage. Segatto's production is strongly influenced by her personal relationship with the ocean, as well as by Brazilian tropicality and environmental issues. The artist expresses herself in manual work, whether in sculptures or on canvas, with a theme that brings the idea of transformation and rebirth. During the pandemic, the artist started to create a series with bombs and revolvers in resin and ceramics.
